Hi,

I'm Meg Dietrich!

After nearly two decades of working as both a mechanic and engineer, from small garages to a professional race team, I created Women's Car Care 101 because I know exactly how it feels to be the only woman in the room.
I'm dedicated to helping you build the car knowledge & confidence you deserve, offering real-world advice & guidance in a way that never makes you feel stupid for asking questions.

Growing up, no one taught me about cars. But I had a realization early on: if I was going to be driving a car my whole life, I might as well know how to work on it. For me, cars represented freedom and independence. I loved traveling and didn't want anything taking that away from me. So I made a decision that changed everything - I dropped out of band in high school to take my first automotive class.

Since then, I've worked in neighborhood garages where customers did a double-take when I walked out to help them. I've been part of high-pressure race team where every second counted. I've faced the same dismissive attitudes and confusing explanations that you've probably experienced.

The truth is, car maintenance isn't rocket science – it just feels that way when no one takes the time to explain things clearly. The technical words, the condescending tones, the vague descriptions of problems – these aren't accidents. They keep you dependent on others for information.

That's why I created Women's Car Care 101. I've taught thousands of women that they don't need to bring a man with them to be taken seriously. My mission is to empower you with knowledge and confidence that allow you to walk into any car situation knowing you can't be scammed, rushed, or dismissed.
